It uses the same general driving strategies as the NG 3lap, however uses 2 additional mushrooms to pass through two sections locked at 100 IV, where they are normally locked at 73 IV. The first of these sections is the shroomless shortcut at the beginning, as is done in the NU 3lap and flap, however you land back on the bridge. The second of these sections is the last half of the cave, where you can use a mushroom on the first green mushroom of the right path, and take that boost to a red mushroom, which gives you a 100 IV lock and a trick exiting the cave.
