Help:Create Page

Introduction

This page will help you create or edit pages on the Mkwtas Wiki. You can find complete help on how to use the source and visual editor on this page. Do not forget to read the rules to avoid any trouble.

Create a new page

Always check if a page already exists by using the search bar before creating a new one.

Create the page

You can create a page from different ways :

• Use the Special:CreatePage.
• Type the name of the page you want to create in the search bar and press enter. You will then be asked to create an new page if it doesn't exist yet.
• Click on a red link on any page to create a page corresponding to the missing page.

Save your page

Before saving :

• Click on "Show Preview" to see if the page displays correctly.
• Add at least one Help:Create Page#Categories to the page.
• Add a summary to describe your changes if needed.
• Check the "This is a minor edit" box if the changes that you made are not important.
• Click on "Save page".

Templates

You can use templates to help you structure and style your page. Each template meets a specific need

Template:Infobox_strat : Used to describe a specific strategy (such as Supergrinding). Template:Infobox_taser : Used to describe a TASer (TAS author). Template:Infobox_user : Used to describe a wiki user in the user namespace. Template:Navbox_courses : List all courses from Mario Kart Wii with direct links to their wiki pages.

Medias

Import a file

You can import a file (image, video, audio...) form two different ways :

• Directly from the page you edit by using the insert image and media button.
• By using the Special:Upload page and then searching your media using the insert image and media button on a page you edit.

Embed a video

Use the Template:Video_Embed to include a video from a video sharing service such as Youtube.

Categories

You can add a page to one or multiple categories to help organize the different pages and make them easier to find.
