TAS Discoveries From 2023

This table contains every discovery useful for 150cc TASes found during the 2023 year. What actually constitutes a "discovery" is subjective. Care has been taken to cover all decently significant finds, but the following table doesn't include minor things such as line improvements and basic driving optimisation. Some strat entries are useless for runs but are included for important novelty purposes, for example, the Moonview Highway ultra longcut.

Column explanations:

- Track describes the track(s) which the strategy is applicable on.
- Category Viability describes which TAS BKT categories the strategy was useful for. UR = Unrestricted, NU = No Ultra, and NG = No Glitch/SC.
- Discovery describes the name and/or description of the actual strategy.
- Theoriser(s) lists the people who contributed in some significant fashion to the discussion, theorisation or processes of the discovery.
- First To Perform lists the people who had input in the first ghost that pulled off the strategy. This includes any important setup inputs.
- Date First Performed contains the date in UTC+00:00 format when the discovery was first performed. Sometimes dates tedious to document to 100% precision, but they are recorded here with the best accuracy possible.

Rows shaded red indicate that the strat has since been obsoleted, and no longer saves time.
Rows shaded yellow indicate that the strat has been unconfirmed to save time.

  1. First revealed to the public during the MKWii TAS Comp April Fools' Day stream, on the 1st of April.
  2. Monster previously conceived the idea in 2020 but with Spear. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVg7Hlwi3ZE&t=90s.
  3. Due to the usage of item boxes, this is only useful for Grand Prix or Versus Races, and not 150cc time trials.
